Singing up a Storm, June, 2024

We were delighted to receive video clips of  our concert at Gatehouse of Fleet from two sources.  Please scroll down to view a couple songs from the first half of our concert presentation.

Singing up a Storm: Songs of Spirit and the Sea

We very much enjoyed singing these songs in the concerts in June.  They ranged from Dalmatian love songs, sung on the shores of the Adriatic coast to the Unst Boat song, Scotland’s oldest known song depicting the coming storm from Shetland. From the joy of the Swimming Song to Sankey and Moody’s nod to our heroes and heroines of the sea, the RNLI, who we celebrate in their 200th year.

Collections at the concerts raised over £850 for the RNLI so thanks to all attendees for their generosity.

We were at;
Dalbeattie Parish Church Hall on Friday 21st June at 7pm
Gatehouse of Fleet Parish Church on Saturday 22nd June at 4pm
New Galloway Town Hall on Sunday 23rd June at 4pm.
